My name is Sally, and I have been interested in photography for as long as I can remember. As a child I loved photographing wildlife and animals, and it is still my favourite subject.
I can spend hours waiting for that moment, the photographers nirvana, when the perfect shot reveals itself. It's an amazingly rewarding hobby, there is a neverending supply of these moments.
As for the name of the site, after musing for a ridiculously long time, I came to 'Faraway Tree Photography'. I wanted a name that meant something to me, and to those people who know me well.
As a child, 'The Magic Faraway Tree' books were a source of great excitement to me, and I'm not ashamed to admit, still are!
If you haven't heard of them, I suggest you bring your childish imagination to the fore and immerse yourself in these magical tales.
